This was a tween bedroom project that we were determined to make feel girly and cozy – a place you’d want to curl up and read, do your homework or socialize with friends. We decided on touches of pink and natural textures throughout. We used a Hingham craftsman for custom carpentry for the desk and bookshelf built-ins as well as the closet drawer stack. The carpentry truly transformed the space and made it possible to maximize every inch to function just as it should. For the en suite bathroom, we worked with JMD Construction to create a calming and youthful retreat with soft colors that would pair perfectly with blush. We went with a sweet, simple, and affordable option—penny tile, but laid in an interesting gray stripe motif and for the shower walls, a cost effective 4x4 square. My favorite shower detail is the cute foot niche for leg shaving (when the time comes). The pink vintage Turkish rug and the floral art both work to ground the space.
